Headteacher (Hurst Green) - Sarah George
Sarah joined Hurst Green Infant School & Nursery in September 2017 as Headteacher. She previously spent nine years at Woodlea Primary School as Deputy Headteacher and SENCo as well as teaching across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. She started her teaching career in 1998 in an inner city school in Derby and moved to teach in West Sussex a few years later. Sarah has also worked as a senior lecturer at the University of Brighton training young adults to become teachers.
Throughout her teaching career, she has taught across all primary year groups. Her passion is infants, building firm foundations for children to enjoy and explore their learning for many years to come!
Sarah has a BEd honours degree from the University of Derby, specialising in English and Physical Education.
Outside school, Sarah is often found on a sports pitch supporting her two sons, walking her crazy black Labrador, listening to podcasts, reading books and baking the odd cake!
