Accessibility Statement

This accessibility statement applies to the www.TandridgeLearningTrust.co.uk website.  This website is managed by Tandridge Learning Trust

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings,
  • zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen,
  • navigate most of the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software, and
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver).
Accessibility Features
  • Brand colours: We endeavour to ensure that our brand colours meet the contrast ratio for the corresponding text size.
  • Buttons and links: We try to ensure that the text on buttons and links accurately describes what the button does. For example, the button text might read “click here to email us”, rather than simply “click here”.
  • Comprehension: We ensure that our website text is as simple as possible to understand, and we use plain English wherever possible.
  • Downloadable documents: We try to ensure that all documents have good colour contrast and where we use PDF files on this site, we try to ensure they are accessible and also, we encourage visitors to request these documents in another format, if needed.
  • Images and graphics: We try to ensure that all images and graphics include descriptive alternative text to assist users with visual impairments.  This does not apply to the images in the slideshow at the top of our site, which are purely decorative and have been labelled appropriately so they don’t interfere with screen readers.  When we include graphical elements, we try to ensure good colour contrast and, where text is included, we make this available separately, or by users contacting us.
  • Keyboard Navigation: The website is navigable via keyboard to accommodate users who cannot use a mouse.
  • Responsive Design: Our website is designed to work on various devices and screen sizes, including desktop computers, tablets, and smartphones.
  • Screen reader compatibility: Our website has been built to include functionality that works with screen readers.
  • Tables: We ensure that tables have row and/or column headers to help visitors using a screen reader or keyboard navigation to access the information.
  • Text Readability: We use clear and legible fonts, sufficient colour contrast, and adjustable text size to enhance readability. We try to ensure that heading elements are consistent and describe the content underneath.
  • Videos: We try to avoid using videos to convey any essential information.  When we do use videos, we will endeavour to make available a transcript of the video and/or add captions.
Third-Party Content and External Websites
  • In some places on our website, we depend on third parties to deliver functionality and services that we cannot perform ourselves.  We cannot guarantee that all our third-party applications and services will always remain accessible and usable due to various updates made by third-party suppliers.
  • We are also not responsible for the content of external websites, nor for any accessibility issues that may be present on those websites.
Commitment to Improvement

Tandridge Learning Trust and all its schools value diversity and inclusion and are committed to providing an accessible online experience for all members of our community. Your feedback is essential in helping us achieve this goal.  We will incorporate feedback from users to enhance accessibility.

We will also endeavour to keep up to date with evolving accessibility standards and best practices.

If any visitors experience problems in any areas of our websites when using a screen reader or other assistive technology, we will endeavour to rectify the problem, provided we are notified using one of the contact methods at the bottom of this document.

Legacy Support

We try to ensure support for older browsers, but it is not always feasible to continue this support.  We urge those on legacy systems to upgrade, to provide the most optimised and secure browsing experience.
